East of here Loudoun is mostly level. At Leesburg the ground starts to move: Catoctin Mountain to the west, the grades on Route 7 climbing toward the Blue Ridge, and the run north on Route 15 down toward the river. Brakes wear from heat and from holding weight down a grade, not from miles alone. A car that sees real descents every week lives differently from one that only ever stops at traffic lights, and rotors tend to show it as heat marking rather than plain even wear.
Leesburg sits at the outer end of the Greenway and Route 7 run toward Tysons and the District. It is one of the longest regular commutes in the county and it crawls for much of its length. Brick sidewalks, narrow streets and almost no off-street parking. This is the part of Leesburg that takes a little planning, and it is entirely workable once we know where you park. A legal street space beside the house is all we need, and we would rather agree the spot on the phone than hunt for one on the day.
The newer neighborhoods running up the Route 15 corridor toward the river. Standard driveways, room to work, and no real access problem. This is also the side of town where the grades toward Point of Rocks start to show up in how a set of pads wears.
Off Route 7 and Battlefield Parkway, mixing single-family homes with townhome clusters. Townhome parking is tighter, but a driveway, an end space or a visitor spot is normally all it takes. If your community has rules about work being done on site, mention it when you book.
The east side of town, where a good many addresses are Leesburg even when the neighborhood name is not. Lots run larger out here and space is rarely the constraint. It is also a short run for us, since we come up Route 7 from Sterling.
